From the President:
Sherry chose Three Flags Tavern for our April Good Dinner
Club. We love city restaurants so I was
glad to support a new restaurant in the area near the Botanical Garden.
That area on Southwest Avenue does not seem to be too busy after
5pm so parking was fairly easy. Three
Flags Tavern has street parking available along with a very small parking lot
if I remember correctly. The building was
non-descript, an average bar and grill – nothing to indicate how sophisticated
the food would be. The inside was warm
with lots of wood. Otherwise the décor was
not remarkable. The restaurant was small
and a little tight but was certainly clean and pleasant.
Diners gave Three Flags Tavern 4 stars for having a good
atmosphere.
Our server was very pleasant. She was able to answer all of our questions
on the various ingredients and entrees offered. Some diners felt our service was
slow, both in getting our food and in paying our check.
Diners gave Three Flags Tavern 4 stars for good service.
The menu offered a few different things that sounded good. The table seemed excited about the lobster
beignets. I did not have anything that I
would rush to return to Three Flags Tavern for but my food was good.
Diners gave Three Flags Tavern 4 stars for good food.
Overall, we had a really good dinner at Three Flags Tavern. Good atmosphere, good food, good service and
good company – there is not much left to say.
Diners gave Three Flags Tavern 4 stars for being a really
good restaurant.
Being that the restaurant was small, the bar did not have a lot of selections and it did take a while to receive our food, and checks.
ReplyDeleteImpressed with how knowledgeable the server was regarding various ingredients and preparations.
